A helium party balloon toppled electrical wires, sparking an early-morning house fire in Lodi this morning.
The Passaic Avenue blaze, which displaced seven people, broke out just before 7 a.m. and was quickly snuffed inside of 20 minutes, emergency responders said.
The toppled wires ignited the fire, which spread to the house’s basement and first floor, they said.
Firefighters from Garfield, Hackensack, Hasbrouck Heights, Saddle Brook and Wallington responded along with Lodi firefighters, police and EMS workers.
