YOU READ IT HERE FIRST: Rochelle Park police seized a pound and a half of pot, nearly 1,000 prescription pills and $25,000 in cash after raiding the home this morning of a 20-year-old resident who they said was supplying a constant stream of buyers with drugs.

Neighbors complained to police that cars pulled up to the Oldis Street house “all hours of the night,” with visitors “running in and out,” Detective James DePreta told CLIFFVIEW PILOT this afternoon.

After watching the residence for nearly a year, officers obtained a search warrant, then moved in around 8 o’clock this morning.

Six Rochelle Park officers were supported by three Hasbrouck Heights detectives and five Bergen County Sheriff’s officers, DePreta said.

After getting two other people out of the house safely, they moved in on the bedroom of Anthony Garrone, he said.

A sleeping Garrone “never knew what happened,” DePreta told CLIFFVIEW PILOT. “It was that fast.”

Besides the pot, police seized 945 Xanax pills and 57 Klonipin, the detective said. They also confiscated smoking pipes, rolling papers, baggies, scales and other drug paraphernalia.

They charged Garrone with 16 counts in all involving drug possession and distribution within  1,000 feet of a school zone.

He was also charged with receiving stolen property — two large pharmaceutical distributor bottles used to hold the pills, DePreta said.

A Municipal Court judge released Garrone on a summons to appear in court.
