Marco Calvo was walking on the tracks with earbuds in near the Essex Street station when he tried to take a photo, NJ Transit’s Nancy Snyder said this afternoon.
“He realized he was too close, stepped out of hte way and was grazed by the train,” Snyder told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.
Calvo refused medical treatment for a cut on his hand, she said.
NJ Transit police charged him with defiant trespassing and interference of transportation.
The Hoboken-bound train, with 76 passengers and crew members aboard, arrived an hour later, Snyder said.
