YOU READ IT HERE FIRST: A Lodi man is charged with stabbing another man during what sources said was a drunken argument.
Michael Wojcik, 24, was being held on $500,000 bail in the Bergen County Jail.
The incident occurred around 1 a.m. yesterday during an argument at a Hope Street home, sources told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.
Wojcik was arrested after detectives recovered the knife, they said.
An initial report that the victim had died was incorrect, Lodi Police Lt. Robert Salerno told CLIFFVIEW PILOT at 10:44 a.m. today.
Authorities were trying to determine why the “knowingly causing the death of” charge (aggravated manslaughter) was initially entered into records.
A news release was expected before noon.
