EXCLUSIVE REPORT: A Ridgefield Park man faces a host of illegal weapons and thefts charges in connection with several stolen guns, one of them an assault rifle, that police said they found at his home.
An indictment returned by a grand jury in Hackensack against 25-year-old Andrew Yoon last week identified five of the recovered firearms:
• .38-caliber Charter Arms revolver;
• .40-caliber Smith & Wesson Beretta semi-automatic pistol;
• .9mm Sig Sauer semi-automatic pistol;
• .22-caliber Sturm, Ruger & Co. long rifle;
• .223-caliber Remington semi-automatic assault rifle
Ridgefield Park police went to Yoon’s Teaneck Road home last Aug. 30 on a warrant from the Pocono Mountain Regional Police Department that accuses him of stealing the guns during a burglary.
Village police consulted the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and brought criminal charges, leading to the 10-count indictment on illegal gun and stolen property possession counts returned last week. He also is charged with being a fugitive from justice.
A judge ordered Yoon held on $550,000 bail, which another judge later reduced to $250,000. He remained held in the Bergen County Jail.
