YOU READ IT HERE FIRST: Two Bergen County men — one from Edgewater, the other from Englewood Cliffs — today admitted their roles in a scheme to truck more than 20 kilos of cocaine from California to New Jersey.

Melvin Feliz, 48, of Englewood Cliffs, and Irving Olivero-Pena, 42, of Edgewater, pleaded guilty in federal court in Newark to drug conspiracy along with Robert Crawford, 39, of Long Island City.

The trio, who were arrested last March 14, admitted giving a courier $549,950 for the drugs during an Oct. 22, 2012 meeting in New Jersey.

Authorities in California seized the cash.

U.S. District Judge Kevin McNulty, who took the pleas, set sentencing for May 6, 2015.

U.S. Attorney Paul J. Fishman credited special agents from the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and IRS-Criminal Investigation with the investigation leading to today’s guilty pleas.

The government is represented by Assistant U.S. Attorney Brian L. Urbano of Fishman’s Criminal Division and Assistant U.S. Attorney David L. Foster of Special Prosecutions.
