ONLY ON CVP: The survival of two women whose SUV fell 60 feet from a Route 80 bridge in Hackensack yesterday reminded some of an Upper Saddle River woman who survived a similar plunge in almost the same spot more than 20 years ago.
Joanne Klein was behind the wheel of a Ford Explorer that hit an uncovered storm drain at a construction site in the highway’s eastbound local lanes around 5:50 a.m. one December 1994 morning.
The SUV went over the side and landed in a soft patch of riverbank mud
Like yesterday, it landed right side up.
Klein was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center, the same as the two women yesterday. Like them, she had no serious injuries.
