UPDATE: An 85-year-old Hasbrouck Heights man was pronounced dead at the scene after his car veered into oncoming traffic and slammed head-on into a truck in Hackensack late this morning.
The area on and around South Summit Avenue was cordoned off as the wreckage was cleared and the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Fatal Investigation Unit did it works, Hackensack Police Capt. Timothy Lloyd told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.
The driver was headed northbound on South Summit in a black Ford Focus when the crash occurred.
The 27-year-old Sanitary Linen Supply truck driver wasn’t injured, Lloyd said.
