YOU SAW IT HERE FIRST: A driver walked away with a few cuts after driving his Mercedes around barricades and into a utility trench inches from a gas main in Westwood this afternoon, authorities said.
Summonses were expected, Police Chief Frank Regino said.

“He’s out of the car and fine, except for a few lacerations,” the chief told CLIFFVIEW PILOT moments after the Broadway mishap near the Hillsdale border. “Luckily it didn’t hit any gas lines.”
A PSE&G crew wasn’t in the trench when the car rolled into the hole, Regino added.
