YOU READ IT HERE FIRST: A young coyote found asleep behind an Elmwood Park resident’s shed was sedated with a tranquilizer pole and removed by Bergen County animal control officers this morning, authorities said.
The report comes on the heels of yesterday’s reported spotting of a coyote in Palisades Park near the Ridgefield border.
Today’s incident occurred around 10:30 a.m., after a Linden Avenue resident told police he was doing yardwork when he found the 30- to 40-pound coyote lying behind his shed in a fenced-in backyard.
“No one was injured and the animal did not appear to be aggressive,” Police Chief Michael Foligno told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.
