YOU READ IT HERE FIRST: An upstate New York deliveryman was charged by members of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit with having sex with a 15-year-old Closter girl after a police officer caught them together in a local park.
David J. Clarke, 27, was being held without bail in the Dutchess County Jail pending extradition to New Jersey after authorities took him into custody in Poughkeepsie yesterday, Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli said this afternoon.
Clarke is charged with sexual assault and child endangerment in connection with a relationship that authorities said occurred while the girl, now 16, was still under the age of consent.
A July 21 arraignment in Central Municipal Court in Hackensack was scheduled.
