A 17-year-old Hackensack boy sent threatening online messages to President Obama and the White House — while claiming to have “friends” in ISIS who were planning to attack new York City — and staged several swatting incidents in Indiana, Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli said today.
The boy was taken into custody at his home this morning and released to his mother following an investigation that involved both the FBI and the CIA, the prosecutor said.
Forensic evidence from devices seized by Computer Crimes Unit detectives could yield additional delinquency complaints, he said.
“A separate and independent investigation initiated by the New Albany, Ind., Police Department identified ‘J.C.’ as a suspect in several “swatting” incidents in their jurisdiction,” Molinelli said. READ MORE….
