YOU SAW IT HERE FIRST: A Mahwah resident was injured, although not seriously, after her Jeep slammed into a utility pole in Ridgewood tonight.
The driver lost control of the 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee in front of 555 North Maple Avenue shortly before 8 p.m.
Although the pole was left leaning after the crash, no electric outages were reported in the area. A PSE&G utility worker was on the scene to assess the extent of necessary repairs.
North Maple Avenue remained closed in both directions between Pine and 2nd streets until those repairs could be made.
Ridgewood police, firefighters and EMS responded.
The Jeep was removed by flatbed tow truck.
