YOU SAW IT HERE FIRST: What Saddle Brook police called “a pack of hoodlum” in masks similar to KISS guitarist Paul Stanley’s smashed more than two dozen cars on the lot of an auto body shop during a violent 20-minute rampage caught on video.

Saddle Brook police released the video to CLIFFVIEW PILOT this morning in the hopes of identifying the quartet responsible for the damage, which Deputy Police Chief Robert White said was estimated at more than $40,000.

The vandals — described as in their teens to early 20s — struck Saturday night outside the Saddle Brook Maaco Auto Body Shop on North Fifth Street, White said.

They can be seen in the video wielding metal pipes, a shovel, a fire extinguisher and cans of white-colored spray paint. One of them appears to have a cast or Ace bandage on his left wrist and lower arm. Another wears a New York Rangers hockey jersey.

At one point, the alarm sounds on a 2010 Mercedes Benz S400 and the quartet runs off — only to return and resume the onslaught after it stops moments later.

The group spray-painted profanity and crude symbols on the vehicles, which also had their windshields and windows smashed and bodies dented, White said.

Managers called police after finding the wreckage Monday morning.

“Our hope is that someone from the public can identify one or all of the ‘hoodlums’ involved in this disturbing and shocking crime — or maybe have heard of them boasting about it,” White told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.

Saddle Brook Maaco is located in a desolate area off Route 46 near NJ Transit railroad tracks. It can’t be seen from the residential areas of Fifth Street and is easily accessible through the railroad property, the deputy chief said.
