YOU READ IT HERE FIRST: Police are seeking the public’s help finding a group of teens who threw a bottle through the window of a Garfield fire truck, hitting a female firefighter.

Engine #2 was en route to a call at the Walmart on Passaic Street when one of the teens flung the bottle, which crashed through a rear compartment window on the driver’s side on Palisade Avenue between Monroe and Commerce streets, Police Capt. Darren Sucorowski told CLIFFVIEW PILOT early this afternoon.

Firefighters reported seeing a group of teenagers — believed to be between 14 and 17 and wearing hoodies and dark-colored clothing run north on Palisade Avenue and then west on Monroe Street, the captain said.

If you have any information that could help the investigation, call Garfield police: (973) 478-8500.
