YOU READ IT HERE FIRST: Six Montvale firefighters and a homeowner were treated for various injuries tonight after a second-floor deck collapsed while they were investigating a chimney fire, CLIFFVIEW PILOT has confirmed.
The fire call came in from Jan Court, on the New York State border, around 9 p.m.
The homeowner had injuries that required an ALS response, emergency service workers told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.
Those taken to Valley Hospital included Montvale Fire Chief Clinton Miller.
Three ambulances responded.
The mayor, police and Building Department were notified.
Authorities all said that no official word on the incident would be released until morning.
