ONLY ON CVP: A shoplifting charge escalated to robbery — and $75,000 bail — for a 51-year-old Garfield man who police said pushed a drug store security guard while trying to swipe a his-and-her massager.
Thomas Grumet was being held in the Bergen County Jail, charged with robbery and resisting arrest.
Officers were called to the Rite Aid on Outwater Lane at 6:49 p.m. Monday by security officers who grabbed and detained Grumet before he could make it out the door, Detective Michael Latona said.
