YOU READ IT HERE FIRST: In what appears a tragic coincidence, a man jumped to his death from the upper level of the George Washington Bridge this afternoon moments after another leaped from the lower level, Port Authority police said.
The first pulled over on the lower level at 4:10 p.m., got out of his car and jumped, the authority’s Joseph Pentangelo told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.
Less than 10 minutes later, the second pedaled a bicycle to a spot on the upper level, stopped and went over the rail.
The NYPD Harbor Unit recovered one body and the city Fire Department the other. Both were brought to the the 125th Street boat basin in Manhattan.
PAPD ESU trucks 2 and 7 responded to the bridge.
Authorities initially believe the incidents are unrelated.
